The difference with EMS MAX-battens and EMS-battens is that with EMS MAX you have three extra battens almost at the top of the sail to maximise the area and curve of the leach. EMS MAX is only available together with EPEX-cloth; the reason is that the cloth needs to be very stiff to handle the extra leach curve.
