This is the second generation Medium Profile SIZE 70 hatch Hallberg-Rassy have installed. Approx year 2010 we changed most SIZE 70 hatches from friction hinges to 2 stays / support arms.
This rather large hatch, one of the largest Medium Profile hatch, could suffer from bend/warped deck frame, due to high tension in the friction hinges. In the long run, this could cause leakage.
The forward deck hatch is the natch that most often is up for ventilation purposed. And this is also the hatch that can experience most water and spray from the sea.
